Peer To Peer Roundtable Discussions

WSAE's Feburary program will provide peer-to-peer programming you consistently ask for.  Following brief introductory remarks, attendees will break into facilitated roundtables to share, learn, and explore.  Our time together will conclude with our facilitators reporting back general findings from their morning discussions.

  • Thursday, March 1, 2012 - Back for a fourth year—with new information on immediate challenges facing associations—"Meeting the Leadership Challenge" is a very interactive seminar that will give you the opportunity to explore together your leadership team’s strengths and challenges. You’ll identify your priorities for the coming year, and strategize how best to work together on behalf of your members and your industry or profession.  Our speakers are Lynn Melby, CAE, and Donna Cameron, CAE, principals of Melby, Cameron & Anderson, a 34-year old association management company in the Seattle area. The program will be fast-paced, informative,and fun, and you will leave with tools and resources that you can implement immediately in your own organization.   • Tuesday, March 20, 2012 –  Could your organization use more volunteers? Does everyone who seems interested in what your organization is doing tell you they don’t have time to help? Would you like to know how to get people to say instead, “Yes, I’d love to help out?” Come to WSAE’s March Executive Seminar “Volunteers Unlimited” to learn a tried and true method to recruit new volunteers. Presenter Marcia Holland will outline three categories of people with their unique interests. She will also demonstrate how you can quickly identify how their interests can be met by your organization. Registration coming soon.

  • Wednesday, March 28, 2012 - Observe FareStart's resident chef, Chef Tamas Ronyai, prepare a delicious meal while having the opportunity to network with other fellow association professionals.  A portion of all proceeds will go to FareStart, a culinary job training and placement program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals.

  • Sunday, June 3 – Tuesday, June 5, 2012 – Mark your calendar for the biggest learning and networking event for Washington’s association community. WSAE’s Annual Convention is one of the best opportunities to refresh your knowledge and to reunite with your friends and colleagues. As always, education will be the main highlight of the Convention – from the Sunday Master Workshop to the Convention general sessions and intensive breakout sessions.   • Tuesday, June 26, 2012 – Led by nationally known architect of ideas Jeffrey Cufaude, "Refreshing Your Competitive Advantage:  Innovating For Increased Value" is a special program that will explore the trends and forces that should most influence association work; consider the key member needs and aspirations you should optimize your solutions to; examine incremental and exponential innovations for increasing member value; and use design thinking to refresh your competitive advantage for core association functions including communications, member engagement and community, professional development, and volunteer involvement. 

    Team registrations are encouraged as this seminar includes a hands-on “lab” component where attendees can work with colleagues on a real program/service from their organization.
